At a tea party jointly hosted by Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and RJP to mark the beginning of New Year 2067 BS, the leaders also criticized the three major parties --UCPN (Maoists), Nepali Congress and CPN-UML -- for failing to accomplish the mandated task.
“It will be in the larger interest of the nation to promulgate the new constitution within the set deadline,” said Chairman Thapa. “There will be an unprecedented political vacuum in the country if the constitution is not promulgated on time.”
Thapa argued that the political deadlock in the country had failed to get its outlet due to lack of seriousness on the part of major political parties.

RPP Chairman Pashupati SJB Rana said there is no alternative to promulgating new constitution. He said the three major parties had failed to accomplish the task by taking the responsibility of all 25 political parties in their hands. “The three parties should take the blame for not drafting the constitution on time,” he further said.
Both the leaders argued that the need of the hour is not the change of the government but the drafting of the new constitution on time.
The RJP and RPP leaders, activists and media persons were present at the tea party.
