KATHMANDU, Aug 10: Former Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Wednesday accused that Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (Maoist Center) are in a plan to drive the country toward a political and constitutional vacuum by not holding polls on declared date.
He accused the two ruling parties of hatching a ploy to take the country toward a political and constitutional vacuum similar to the time when a government headed by Chief Justice was formed.
Speaking at an interaction organized by Press Chautari at the UML headquarters in Dhumbarahi, Oli said that the agreement between NC-CPN (Maoist Center) and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) will create a constitutional vacuum in the country.
“The agreement will create a constitutional vacuum,” he claimed, “UML will not keep mum on activities of inviting a constitutional vacuum.”
The former Prime Minister said that his party won’t approve the agreement.
“Accords reached by others are not a matter of concern for UML and the party won’t rectify such accords,” he said.
