POKHARA, Jan 23: CPN (UML) senior leader, Madhav Kumar Nepal, today stressed on need for holding all three-tier elections to save the country from a political vacuum.
Speaking at a press meet organized by Press Chautari Nepal, Kaski, leader Nepal said the election-related laws must be presented before the Election Commission by putting on hold the constitution amendment proposal for sake of holding the elections.
Expressing concern over what he termed as a plot to postpone the election under various pretexts, Nepal said the constitution implementation was possible only after handing over the responsibility to new people's representatives by holding the three elections by Magha 7, 2073 BS.
The leader also claimed that the amendment of the constitution is not the demand of the common Madhesi people and added that the one-third majority of the lawmakers remained secure with the main opposition to foil any attempt to amend the constitution. RSS
