KATHMANDU, Aug 2: Police opened fire and arrested a man accused of snatching a gold chain in Budhanilkantha Municipality-13, Chunikhel, on Friday night.
The suspect, identified as Karma Tamang, was apprehended after allegedly attempting to attack police officers with a khukuri while they tried to arrest him at around 10:25 pm on Friday.

Police said officers fired three rounds before bringing Tamang under control. The khukuri allegedly used in the attack was recovered from his possession.
According to the Kathmandu District Police Range, Tamang is undergoing treatment at the Trauma Center in Kathmandu.
