KATHMANDU, May 20: Nepal Police have arrested two individuals allegedly involved in a gold robbery in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu.
A team from the Police Circle, Budhanilkantha, arrested the suspects for robbing jewelry from two women in different areas. The incidents occurred near Budhanilkantha Model Community Academy (BMAC) in Budhanilkantha-2 and the Upper Bhangal area on Sunday. The arrested individuals are Saroj Kumar Shah, 19, and Radheshyam Shah, 20, both permanent residents of Maulapur-4, Rautahat.
Three held on robbery charge
Superintendent of Police (SP) Nabraj Adhikari, spokesperson for the District Police Range, stated that Saroj Kumar Shah snatched a little over 1 tola of gold from 75-year-old Shardha Thapa near BMAC. Similarly, Radheshyam Shah has been accused of robbing Sumitra Shrestha of her gold jewelry near Upper Bhangal.
Spokesperson Adhikari added that the Kathmandu District Court has granted the police five more days to keep the suspects in custody for further investigation into the matter.
