Police fire in Jhapa

JHAPA, June 11: Police opened fire in Kakadbhitta of Jhapa on Tuesday afternoon to take the agitating electricity consumers under control. The locals of Mechinagar Municipality had been staging protest citing irregular power supply since early morning. [break]



Traders, industrialists and locals took to the streets and enforced a shutdown demanding regular power supply. Police also baton-charged the agitating locals. Earlier, the locals had encircled the police post demanding regular power supply.
