Woman and bus co-driver arrested for dealing in narcotic drug disguised as honey through Pathao rider

KATHMANDU, June 4: Police have arrested a woman and another individual on the charge of dealing in narcotics using a Pathao rider.


A team from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Thankot apprehended Maya Lama, 34, of Bagmati Rural Municipality, Sarlahi, and Megh Bahadur Thakuri, 27.

Last Monday, a bus co-driver bought narcotics while en route from Sarlahi on a bus (Na 6 Kha 4540). The police arrested the woman based on the co-driver’s statement that he was delivering the money to Maya Lama, aka Nana, and Lama’s number was saved in his mobile phone.


Further investigation revealed that Lama used a Pathao rider to receive narcotics being transported by the bus. She had given money to the Pathao rider to pick up the narcotic drug disguised as honey in Radhe Radhe, Bhaktapur. This operation led to her arrest by the police.
