KATHMANDU, May 26: Rastriya Prajatantra Party’s (RPP) chief whip Gyan Bahadur Shahi has demanded the formation of a parliamentary probe committee to investigate the Jalhari case of Pashupatinath temple.
Speaking to the media at the Federal Parliament in New Baneshwor on Friday, he said that an inquiry committee should be formed “today itself”.

He said that the government should form an inquiry committee to determine whether the Jalhari is made up of pure gold or brass and respond immediately.
“Our opinion is that a committee should be formed. This issue will be over only when the government answers whether it is of gold or brass,” he said, adding, “It is also an attack on religious faith. We are doubtful that the government will investigate the matter tomorrow. Therefore, the prime minister should investigate it today.”
He also said that religious beliefs were attacked by raising questions in Parliament about the Jalhari of the Pashupatinath temple.
