KATHMANDU, April 22: Three children have died from poisoning while their mother is in critical condition in Dhanusha district.
According to the Dhanusha police, Babita Kumari Sah, 25, wife of Sushil Kumar Sah from Sahid Nagar Municipality-5, poisoned her 8-year-old son Aditya Sah, 5-year-old daughter Kriti Sah, and 3-year-old daughter Preeti Kumari Sah on Monday evening before ingesting the poison herself.

After the family learned about the severe condition caused by the poisoning, they rushed the victims to the Provincial Hospital in Janakpur for treatment. The children were declared dead by doctors during treatment, while Babita Kumari Sah, who remained in critical condition, is being treated at Ram Janaki Hospital in Janakpur.
A surgical procedure was performed to remove the baby from Babita's womb. The hospital stated that the newborn's condition is normal as the delivery time has already passed.
The newborn son's health is reported to be stable, while the condition of his mother, Babita, remains critical.
Preliminary police investigations have revealed that Babita poisoned the food she fed to her children due to a domestic dispute and also consumed the poison herself. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to the Dhanusha and Rautahat police.
