PM Deuba calls for developing youth entrepreneurship to reduce educated unemployment

KATHMANDU, August 12: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has stressed the need for developing youth entrepreneurship to reduce educated unemployment.

KATHMANDU, August 12: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has stressed the need for developing youth entrepreneurship to reduce educated unemployment. 


Youths should unite and become active for the development of the country, he emphasized at an event organized in the capital on Friday by the International Youth Day Main Organizing Committee on the occasion of the International Youth Day.


There is a need to pass on skills and efficiencies to the next generation for their consolidation, he said while emphasizing the need to expose their contribution to developing and carrying out positive changes in the country and society, their welfare and rights should be managed effectively.

Maintaining that the Day is an important festival to connect youths from all religions, castes, genders and communities across the globe, the PM expressed the hope that it would help as a worthwhile partner for the country to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by exploring efficiencies of youths. 


May this Day inspire all to help build an equitable and peaceful society as envisioned by the world by utilizing skills, efficiencies and experiences of youths in a coordinated and supplementary way, he wished. "Healthy, educated, skilled, creative, disciplined and patriotic youths are the need of today. The county can get a drastic positive change through the development of such youths. To build a healthy, prosperous, just and peaceful society, there is a need to provide every opportunity to youths in every state sector and area. The country has a beautiful future in the leadership and initiatives of youths, a vehicle for positive changes."  


Similarly, Chairperson of the National Youth Council (NYC) Maheshwor Gahatraj, also Minister for Youth and Sports, stated that engaging youths in entrepreneurship could develop the country. 


Other speakers, member of the National Planning Commission Uma Shankar Chaudhary, the NYC Vice Chair Surendra Basnet and representatives of various countries underscored the need for the government to increase investments to make youths entrepreneurs and creative. On the occasion, a morning rally had been organized on the premises of Bhrikutimandap.
