KATHMANDU, Feb 21: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his commitment to take initiatives to bring Dinesh Karki, a Nepali national who has been in a jail in Saudi Arabia for the past two years, back to Nepal.
Dinesh of Chaubise Rural Municipality-4, Dhankuta, is in a Saudi jail on the charge of violating traffic rules.

Prime Minister Dahal made his pledge to bring Dinesh back to Nepal during a meeting with a team comprising Ganesh Bahadur Karki, father of Dinesh, at the prime minister's official residence in Baluwatar this morning.
The PM drew the attention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take initiatives immediately to bring Dinesh back home after getting him released from the Saudi jail.
“The incumbent government is most sensitive to the rights and safety of Nepali workers abroad. Nepalis working in foreign countries have significant contributions to the national economy. So it is the responsibility of the state to make arrangements for their welfare and security,” said the prime minister.
Prime Minister Dahal shared, “The government is committed to upholding the self-esteem of Nepalis, who are in overseas employment, as well as to mobilize their capital, skills and technology in the interest of Nepal.”
