FNJ sends protest memo to Saudi govt, condemning Khashoggi's murder

KATHMANDU, Oct 23: Condemning the murder of Jamal Ahmad Khashoggi, journalist, writer and former editor of the Saudi Arabian newspaper Al Watan, the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) on Tuesday sent a letter of protest to the Saudi Arabian government via the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Kathmandu.


"The Saudi Arabia government should investigate the murder case of Khashoggi and bring the guilty to book without delay," reads the press statement issued by the FNJ.


Khashoggi had gone missing since he entered the Office of Consulate General of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul,Turkey on October 2. The Saudi Arabian government admitted that he was beaten to death inside the Istanbul-based Office of Consulate General of Saudi Arabia


The murder case of Khashoggi has triggered protests across the world and has been described as 'ruthless, inhuman and against the press freedom'.
