KATHMANDU, March 4: Chairman of the second largest ruling party, Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), Jhala Nath Khanal, has said that the Maoist move to recruit combatants into the People´s Liberation Army is against the ongoing peace process and the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA)-2006.
"This is against the CPA and the peace process and it must be stopped," Khanal said at a function in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
For Madhesis, CPA promises not kept
He said the politics of ideology has always proved successful against the politics of the gun and violence.
Meanwhile, Khanal presented the Yadu Memorial Journalism Award to Rameshwor Bohora, senior correspondent of Himal magazine. The award carries a purse of Rs. 10,000 and a citation.
