KATHMANDU, November 2: CPN-UML Vice Chairman Bishnu Paudel has accused the government of delaying the progress of the peace process while wrongly pointing fingers at the opposition.

Speaking during the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, he emphasized the UML's unwavering commitment to immediately completing the remaining stages of the peace process.

Paudel said, “The ruling party is quick to blame the opposition. To the ruling party and the government, I assert that, with a focus on ensuring justice for the victims, adhering to Nepal's court orders, and upholding international human rights standards, the peace process should be brought to a timely conclusion. I pose the question to the ruling party: What is causing the delay?”

Vice Chairman Paudel added that the government itself appeared to be hesitating to finalize the peace process, all while unfairly leveling allegations against the opposition. He claimed, “Because of our commitment to conclude the peace process, a holiday on February 13 should not disrupt the peace-building environment.”
