The program was organized by Wildlife Conservation Nepal and had internationally acclaimed photographer Neil Eschenfeilder of the University of Utah, USA, Nripa Dhoj Khadka of the Institute of Engineering (IOE) and Om Prakash Yadav from Open Learning Exchange (OLE) [break]Nepal as trainers helping students acquire the skills of photography.
Neil, who first visited Nepal in 2008 for a photo safari, expressed his fondness for Nepal and said, “It is a wonderful place for photography with amazing diversity in the country.” Commenting on the workshop, he said, “It has been a very interesting time, I found that the students here are very eager to learn.”
Nirbendra KC, 18, a participant at the program, said he loved “every bit of the training.” A student of photography, KC claimed that he learnt much more than what his regular classes could offer.

Nirpa Dhoj Pradhan, also a mentor, said the scenario of photography was changing in the country with more and more youngsters vying for the profession. He, however, said, “There is still a long way to go for the full-scale development of the field.”
The workshop was organized by Wildlife Conservation Nepal (WCN) from 22 to 25 October. WCN is coming up with its Sixth Annual Nature and Wildlife Photography Competition soon. Interested candidates are requested to submit their print and digital files at the WCN Office, Bafal, or Photo Hollywood studio for the
competition.
