KATHMANDU, Sept 26: As Dashain festival– one the main festivals of Nepali people –started today, a huge number of people thronged main business areas in Kathmandu Valley for shopping.
Main business areas of Kathmandu such as Ason and New Road overcrowded with people. Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has prohibited the entry of vehicles during the afternoon for four days in New Road areas in view of the traffic congestion.

Ghatasthapana– the first day of "Navratri"- is being marked today by preparing for Jamara (barley shoots) by sowing maize and barley seeds in a jar filled with soil and cow dung for germination.
