The copies of draft will now be submitted to the top leaders of the four major ruling political parties -- Nepali Congress (NC), Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (MPRF) and Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) -- and the draft will be made public after the leaders approve it.
"We have finalized the draft from our side. Now we will submit the copies to the top leaders of our respective parties. They may make some recommendations to add or to remove anything in the draft," said Raghuji Pant, one of the members of the panel. The CMP draft will be made public once the top leaders endorse it in one or two days, according to him.
The CMP has thrashed out policies on taking the peace process to a logical conclusion, security situation of the country, on operating big projects in the country and introducing policies and programs to give immediate relief to the people from ever increasing price hike, among other major issues.
Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat and Dr. Minendra Rijal of NC, Shankar Pokharel and Pant of the CPN-UML, Sharat Sing Bhandari and Jitendra Dev of MPRF and Hridayesh Tripathi and Sarbendra Nath Sukla were members of the panel.
22-party meeting
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has called a joint meeting of 22 political parties, which had supported Nepal to prove his majority in the parliament while claiming the top executive post, later in the afternoon.
The parties will discuss on formation of new government, on the number of ministries to allocate to the coalition partners.
