Speaking at a talk program on Thursday, Khosa said Pakistan supplied medical aid and relief supplies which included medicines, blankets, tents, rice, lentils, and a state-of-the-art search and rescue equipment in the first phase. He said that a 49-member team of doctors, which included surgeons, and another search and rescue team of 35 members were flown to Nepal shortly after the earthquake.Khosa said Pakistan only dispatched tents in the fourth phase of its relief assistance as per the request of Nepal government and 700 tents were flown in via two C-130 aircrafts for the earthquake affected people. "The Prime Minister of Pakistan accorded immediate approval to the provision of 20,000 tents and 20 tons of rice for Nepal upon the request of Nepal government," he said.
According to Khosa, Pakistan has so far provided 10,000 kgs of medicines, 1556 tents/shelters, 1,000 blankets, 2.000 kgs rice and daal, 3,540 meals-ready-to-eat, 2,840 kgs of dry rations, state-of-the-art search and rescue equipment and four sniffing dogs to help expedite search and rescue and relief efforts. Among others, 13 specialist doctors and 36 medical staff and 35 search and rescue team members were involved in response to the disaster.
