KATHMANDU, Oct 15: The Metropolitan Traffic Police Office, Ramshahpath has introduced a hassle-free online system to support service seekers to recover vehicle-related documents destroyed during the Gen Z protests.
According to the office, the recovery process for burned documents such as driver’s licenses, registration books, and fine records can now be completed through an online system. Many of these documents were lost when arson attacks during the protests gutted several offices across the Valley.
Revised interest rate corridor system introduced
Traffic police said that affected individuals can fill out the required form by clicking ‘lost document’ on the office’s official website.
After submitting the online application, service seekers will receive an application number. By entering this number in the ‘check application’ section, they can download a recommendation letter with a QR code.
They can then visit the concerned transport office with this QR-coded recommendation letter. This will save time for service recipients and reduce pressure at the traffic police office.
Traffic police also clarified that vehicle owners whose documents were burned and who have already obtained a 24-hour permit or recommendation letter from the traffic police can continue to operate their vehicles.
