JHAPA, Nov 23: One person has died in a road accident that took place in Haldibari of Mechinagar Municipality-15.
The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Binod Raut of the same locality, said District Police Office Spokesperson Khagendra Bahadur Khadka. The accident took place on Saturday evening when a motorcycle (Pra.1-01-013. Pa. 3336) heading towards Intabhatta from Bhadrapur hit a tractor (Pra. 1-01-001 Ta. 9977) parked on the roadside.
Motorcycle driver Raut and 21-year-old Nischal Bhujel, who was pillion riding, were both injured in the accident. They were rushed to B&C Hospital in Birtamod for treatment, where Raut succumbed to his injuries.

Police are conducting further investigation into the incident, while the tractor driver has been taken into custody.
