Chairman Oli, however, clarified that the party had no intention of carrying the Chief Justice Rana, according to Bhattarai.

Bhattarai also said that the impeachment motion was introduced with the intention of deferring the local level election and endorsing the US's Millennium Challenge Corporation compact. He also clarified that the UML was pursuing a "wait and see" policy until the ruling coalition comes to a consensus on the MCC project.
