KATHMANDU, Feb 13: The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has taken a strong exception to the move of ruling alliance to register an impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana.
A meeting of the party's Central Secretariat held at the residence of the party's Chairman K P Oli in Balkot on Sunday evening decided to strongly 'retaliate' the decision of the ruling alliance. The party, however, has not disclosed how it would 'retaliate' the move.

The party has concluded that the move of the ruling alliance was a part of conspiracy hatched against judiciary and country's democracy. The meeting concluded that the decision of the ruling alliance to impeach Chief Justice Rana was aimed at bringing controlled instability in the country.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel said the meeting decided to 'retaliate' the move of the ruling alliance as it is against the country's democracy and republican system.
General Secretary Pokharel also said that the party's Central Committee meeting scheduled for Monday will take important decision to in this regard.
