Number of COVID-19 cases on rise in districts linked with India, as India suffers the second wave

DHANGADHI, March 30: Districts adjoining the neighboring country India are witnessing a sharp rise in new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).


As many as 15 individuals tested positive for the COVID-19 at a temporary corona hospital set up at Dhangadhi under the Seti Provincial Hospital. As many as 12 of the total 15 persons tested positive for the disease had recently returned from India.

According to Seti Provincial Hospital’s Information Officer Dilip Kumar Shrestha, a 34-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-3 tested positive for the virus while a youth from ward no. 2 of the Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City also tested positive on Monday.


Other infected persons, who returned from India, are from Doti, Kanchanpur and Kailali districts.


In recent days, India has been witnessing the second wave of COVID-19. India reported the highest daily increase in coronavirus cases in five months on Monday.
