Speaking at an interaction program organized by the NTB regarding the budget for the fiscal year 2021/22, the entrepreneurs said that Nepal should keep the outside world informed about Nepal’s tourism activities. They also stressed on the need to ensure vaccination and gradually make the tourism industry operational with a focus on health and safety.

Janak Rupakheti, Director of Nepal Airlines Corporation, said that it was necessary to emphasize international connectivity along with digital marketing.

Abdullah Tuncer, General Manager of Turkish Airlines' Nepal office, said that due to the change in health standards and limited flights, fewer tourists have come at this time. He said that the new programs of NTB should send a message to potential tourists that Nepal is open to the international community.

Similarly, Natasha Shrestha, director of Avia Club Nepal, said that foreign tourists still want to come to Nepal, but are discouraged due to high airfare and post-arrival criteria. She argued that the government should revise these requirements to attract tourists to Nepal.
