An NSU office bearers meeting Wednesday fixed the convention date, just ahead of NC President Sushil Koirala’s medical trip to the US. At today’s meeting, NSU President Ranjit Karna proposed general convention for September 21-23. However the meeting decided to hold it early keeping in mind the NC Mahasamiti preference that the NSU meet be held within four months. [break]
“We were mulling general convention for September 21-23, but decided to hold it for September 12-14,” Rishikeh Shah, a central committee member of NSU said. A taskforce mandated with organizing general convention was formed some one and a half years ago under NSU President Ranjit Karn. The convention however had deferred two times in the past owing to internal differcences.
