DHANKUTA, Oct 26: Students of All Nepal National Independent Students´ Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) have misbehaved with Parbat Kumar Rai, campus chief of Bhojpur Multiple Campus on Sunday. [break]

Eyewitnesses said students had attacked the campus chief at around 12 noon while Rai was working in his own office. Campus chief Rai has sustained deep injuries in his head, said Dr Pradip Thapa of District Hospital, Bhojpur.

Some half dozen students including ANNISU-R district chairperson Sunita Rai, vice chairperson Nabin Pariyar, secretary Dinesh Khanal and others had attacked the campus chief.

ANNISU-R and Nepal Students Union (NSU) had been demanding campus chief´s resignation for the last five months over the appointment of six officials in the campus.

Issuing a press release, NSU has clarified that Union was not involved in the incident.

Three months ago, a probe committee over the appointment had made a conclusion that appointment process for the officials in the campus was rational.

Professors and officials of the campus have condemned the incident. They have protested against the interference in the educational institution.
