KATHMANDU, Jan 19: In a continuation of a series of protests against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) by Prime Minister Oli, students affiliated to the Nepal Students Union (NSU), the student wing of Nepali Congress, on Tuesday took to streets to protest uniquely by shaving their heads.
The members of NSU, with their heads shaved, chanted slogans against the dissolution of the 275-member lower house, claiming it was an ‘unconstitutional’ move by the prime minister.
The agitators, headed from Gyaneshwor in the capital, were arrested by police at Kamal Pokhari.
Following the Dec 20-House dissolution, various political parties including a rival faction in the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) have been holding a series of protests claiming it was a severe assault on the spirit of the Constitution of Nepal.
