KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has initiated the distribution of new banknotes, a customary practice for the festive season. NRB is offering the exchange of new banknotes at a rate of Rs 18,500 per person.
For those within the Kathmandu Valley, new banknotes can be exchanged through the Currency Management Department of NRB and various commercial bank branches, which will receive new notes from NRB to provide this service.

Outside the Kathmandu Valley, individuals can exchange their old notes by visiting the provincial office of NRB or the branch office of a commercial bank.
NRB has designated multiple locations for the distribution of new notes, including its central office in Baluwatar, as well as branches in Biratnagar (Morang), Janakpur (Dhanusha), Birgunj (Parsa), Siddharthnagar (Rupandehi), Pokhara (Kaski), and Surkhet (Birendranagar).
