KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the foreign exchange rates for today.
The value of the US dollar, Swiss franc, Australian dollar, Singapore dollar, Chinese yuan, Saudi Arabian riyal, Qatari riyal, UAE dirham, South Korean won, Swedish krona, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar has increased. On the other hand, the euro, Canadian dollar, Japanese yen, Malaysian ringgit, Danish kroner, and Omani riyal have slightly decreased.
The buying rate for 1 US dollar is Rs 136.91, while the selling rate is Rs 137.51. Similarly, the euro’s buying rate is Rs 141.32, and its selling rate is Rs 141.94. The British pound sterling stands at Rs 170.31 for buying and Rs 171.06 for selling, while the Swiss franc’s buying and selling rates are Rs 150.87 and Rs 151.53, respectively.
Revised interest rate corridor system introduced
For the Australian dollar, the buying rate is Rs 85.06, and the selling rate is Rs 85.43. The Canadian dollar is set at Rs 94.92 for buying and Rs 95.33 for selling. The Singapore dollar has a buying rate of Rs 100.30 and a selling rate of Rs 100.74. For 10 units of Japanese yen, the buying rate is Rs 8.71, and the selling rate is Rs 8.74.
Other currencies include the Chinese yuan with a buying rate of Rs 18.76 and a selling rate of Rs 18.84, while the Saudi Arabian riyal’s rates are Rs 36.46 and Rs 36.62 for buying and selling, respectively. The Qatari riyal stands at Rs 37.56 for buying and Rs 37.72 for selling, and the Thai baht is at Rs 3.99 for buying and Rs 4.01 for selling.
The UAE dirham’s buying and selling rates are Rs 37.27 and Rs 37.44, while the Malaysian ringgit is set at Rs 30.57 and Rs 30.70, respectively. For 100 units of South Korean won, the buying rate is Rs 9.33, and the selling rate is Rs 9.37. The Swedish kroner is priced at Rs 12.36 for buying and Rs 12.41 for selling, while the Danish kroner’s rates are Rs 18.95 and Rs 19.03.
Additionally, the Hong Kong dollar is valued at Rs 17.60 for buying and Rs 17.68 for selling. The Kuwaiti dinar’s buying and selling rates are Rs 443.79 and Rs 445.73, while the Bahraini dinar is set at Rs 363.15 and Rs 364.74. The Omani riyal is priced at Rs 355.61 for buying and Rs 357.16 for selling.
For Indian rupees, the buying rate for 100 units is Rs 160.00, and the selling rate is Rs 160.15.
NRB stated that these rates may be revised as necessary. It also mentioned that commercial banks might set slightly different rates, and updated information can be accessed on the central bank's official website.
