KATHMANDU, May 7: A notice has been registered Tuesday against the Supreme Court (SC) administration’s move a day earlier of declining the registration of a writ petition against the recommendation of former chief secretary Lok Man Singh Karki as head of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

Advocate Om Prakash Aryal registered the notice asking the apex court to quash Registrar Lokhit Chandra Sah’s order and to register the writ petition which Aryal had tried to file at the SC on Monday.[break]

The SC administration had rejected Aryal’s petition stating the filing of the petition lacked due process. In today’s notice, Aryal has argued that the SC administration move to reject the petition has violated the people’s right to fast track justice.

The petitioner had claimed that the Constitutional Council´s decision to recommend Karki as chief commissioner of the anti-graft body was against constitutional provision, existing laws, spirits of the 2006 people’s movement and an earlier order of the SC.
