KATHMANDU, April 6: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Spokesperson and lawmaker Manish Jha hailed the current House of Representatives (HoR) as one of South Asia’s finest.
Speaking at Monday’s session, Jha said that during the election campaign, the party did not merely seek votes—it envisioned building South Asia’s “best HoR.” He added that the next step is to focus on practice, culture, and principles.

“During the campaign, we told voters we weren’t just here to collect votes—we aimed to create the best House in South Asia,” Jha said. “Looking around at my colleagues today, it feels like that vision has become a reality. Now, it’s time to uphold practice, culture, and principles in our work.”
Jha recalled that in the past, the HoR had often operated under constraints, “locked up” in places like Khumaltar, Baluwatar, Budhanilkantha and Balkot. He stressed that the HoR must now function guided by principles.
Highlighting the responsibility of a strong ruling side, Jha said it should show generosity, decorum, and principled leadership—not arrogance. Warning against complacency, he cited the incidents of September 8 and 9 as cautionary examples and urged lawmakers to remain vigilant to prevent similar mistakes.
