Speaking at the Reporters´ Club in the capital, Gajurel argued that there is no point in holding dialogue unless there is clear commitment that the Regmi-led government would be replaced by a new one. He also claimed that the government has not formally invited them for talks. [break]
The CPN-Maoist has been maintaining that the current election government led by Khil Raj Regmi is unconstitutional and that the High Level Political Committee comprising representatives of the four major political forces -- UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Unified Democratic Madhesi Front - does not have any legitimacy.
Gajurel also criticized the 11-point deal between the four major parties, saying the agreement will finally leave the country without a constitution. He ruled out chances of election in June and claimed that polls were unlikely even in November.
Gajurel further said his party seeing that the talks would yield no result has decided to stage protests to press for their demand. He also claimed that the UCPN (Maoist) has no clear agenda and that chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is currently on a visit to China, is all set to bring political agenda from China and India for his party.
