Voluntary retirement scheme receives disappointing response
Chief of Voluntary Unit (at the Ministry), Dharma Raj Rokaya said they had received no further instruction from above to take the process ahead. As per the schedule, names and other details of employees applied for voluntary retirement had to be published on the Ministry's website by March 27.
We have collected the details of those staffs wishing to take voluntary retirement so as to make them public via online, but instruction from the upper level is awaited, he added.
This voluntary retirement scheme was announced by the erstwhile government while the incumbent government earlier hinted the possibility of its cessation, citing economic burden on the national coffer. A total of 9,656 employees have expressed their desire to go with voluntary retirement package during the adjustment process. Only those employees completing 50 years of age and 20 years in service were eligible for applying for voluntary retirement. RSS
