Giri, who was admitted to Om Hospital in Chawahil after suffering from cancer, died while undergoing treatment. [break]
He had embarked on his journalism career as a monitor of international news and newsreader at the Radio Nepal on 1975 AD.
He had served the state-owned Nepal Television as a news editor and newsreader for more than one-and-a-half decade during his broadcasting journalism career.
In addition, Giri had been working as an Associate Professor of Economics in Min Bhawan Campus, Baneswor.
His body will be kept at Om Hospital all day today for final tributes and his last rites will be performed at Aryaghat on Monday, said his family sources.
Late Giri is survived by spouse, two sons and two daughters.
