KATHMANDU, June 21: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday dropped 14.05 points to close at 2,050.78 points.
The secondary market that opened at 2,064.83 points went through a series of fluctuations to hit the day’s high at 2,082.77 points in the first one and a half hours. However, the market followed a downhill trend in the remaining trading hours.

This is the third consecutive day that the country’s stock exchange market landed in the red. Along with the market index, the daily turnover amount declined to Rs 3.496 billion from Rs 4.110 billion on Tuesday.
In the intraday trading, 179 listed companies lost in their market value while 45 companies were recorded gainers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chip companies was down 2.03 points.
Out of 13 groups, only four including hotel and tourism, manufacturing and processing, life insurance and trading were the gainers in their index. Of the nine losers, four lost double-digit points.
Among individual companies, Shivam Cements had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 230.64 million. Green Ventures Limited was the topmost loser while City Hotel Limited gained the highest percent of its market price.
