KATHMANDU, March 20: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday plummeted by 12.84 points to close at 2,669.31 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,682.15 points, initially added two points, and dropped to the day’s low at 2,667.37 points in the first 40 minutes of trading. However, the index escalated and attained the day’s high of 2,685.87 points in the next one hour, followed by a drop of around 13 points in the similar time period successively. For the next hour, the share market remained steady with nominal fluctuations before it closed for the day.

Only the trading index added 11.15 points. Of the 12 losing groups, non-life insurance declined the largest of 112.70 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also declined 2.21 points. Daily turnover amount declined to Rs 4.56 billion from Rs 5.14 billion on Wednesday.
Among the individual companies, only 62 were gainers while 175 were registered as losers. Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited had the largest turnover of Rs 282.12 million.
Mithila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Bhugol Energy Development Company Limited were registered as the topmost losers. Dolti Power Company Limited gained the largest of 6.90 percent of its market price.
