KATHMANDU, June 22: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Thursday increased marginally by 4.75 points to close at 2,055.53 points.
The secondary market that opened at 2,050.78 points went through a series of fluctuations to hit the day’s high at 2,074.33 points in the first half of the trading hours. However, the market declined in the remaining trading time and plunged to as low as 2,043.14 points, before the market recovered around 12 points to close for the day.
The market increased nominally after the index witnessed a successive fall for the past three days.

In the intraday trading, 147 listed companies lost in their market value while 74 companies were recorded as gainers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chip companies fell 0.30 points.
Out of 13 trading groups, only four were the gainers. Of them, hotels and tourism, life insurance and non-life insurance added three-digit points to their market index. Among nine losers, hydropower, microfinance, development banks and manufacturing and processing lost double digit points.
The daily turnover amount declined to Rs 3.444 billion from Rs 3.496 billion on Wednesday. According to stockbrokers, investors being attracted to purchase shares of hotels in particular have helped maintain total transaction amount at a reasonable level.
Among individual companies, Soaltee Hotel Limited had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 296.38 million. Citizens Mutual Fund-1 was the topmost loser while Taragaon Regency Hotel Limited gained the highest percent of its market price.
