KATHMANDU, Aug 27: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday nosedived 111.96 points to close at 2,782.60 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,894.57 points and increased by eight points in the pre-opening session. However, the market index went to a downward graph almost throughout the trading hours. The market fell to the day’s low at 2,771.62 points in the last three minutes, just to recover around 11 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also declined a notable 22.87 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 18.64 billion from Rs 19.74 billion on Sunday.
Among individual companies, only 20 were recorded as gainers whereas 223 were the losers.
Out of the 13 groups, hotels and tourism added 31.51 points in its index and was the single gainer. Of the losers, life insurance shed the largest of 524.50 points, while six other groups lost three-digit points in their indices.
Himalayan Reinsurance Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 654.20 million. Nepal Finance Ltd was the topmost loser. Three companies including Taragaon Regency Hotel Limited, Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Dolti Power Company Limited were recorded as the biggest gainers.
