KATHMANDU, April 9: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday increased by 9.19 points to close at 2,036.01 points.
The market opened at 2,026.81 points and went to the day’s high at 2,045.89 points in the first eight minutes. However, the index dropped to 2,035.09 points in the next few minutes and hovered around this value for the next two hours. The market posted nominal fluctuations in the remaining trading hours.
NEPSE falls marginally by 1.85 points, daily turnover declines...
The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies added 0.75 points. The daily turnover declined marginally to Rs 4.14 billion from Rs 4.25 billion on Sunday. The secondary market remained closed with the government announcing a public holiday on Monday to mark ‘Ghodejatra’.
Manufacturing and processing lost the highest of 100.53 points, along with microfinance, and hotels and tourism as two other losers. Of the 10 gainers, non life insurance had its index inclined by the largest of 105.32 points.
Among individual companies, 150 were recorded as gainers whereas 86 were the losers.
SuryaJyoti Life Insurance Company Limited had the largest transactions of shares worth Rs 180.81 million. Janaki Finance Company Limited topped the gainers lists, while Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 10 percent of its market price.
