KATHMANDU, June 30: Nepal's Ashok Dhami displayed a remarkable all-round performance, leading his team to an impressive 84-run victory against Malaysia in the ACC U-16 East Zone Cup cricket tournament. Dhami showcased his skills with both bat and ball, contributing 52 runs while batting and claiming four crucial wickets while bowling.
With this win against Malaysia in the final group stage match, Nepal secured the top position in Group A and advanced to the semi-finals. In their opening match, Nepal had achieved a resounding victory over Thailand with a massive margin of 225 runs.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss at the Bayuemas Oval cricket ground, Nepal posted a total of 183 runs before being bowled out in 33.4 overs. Ashok Dhami and Naren Bhatta played a crucial role in resurrecting the team's innings from a precarious position of 91-7, as their partnership of 45 runs for the eighth wicket breathed new life into Nepal's batting performance.
During the match, Dhami scored 52 runs off 36 balls, including 3 fours and 5 sixes. Naren Bhatta contributed 29 runs off 43 balls, including one boundary. Ashok's partnership with Kartik Kamat added 39 runs for the ninth wicket. Kamat departed after scoring 16 runs off 17 balls, including one boundary.
Nepal will play the semi-final against the runner-up of Group B on July 3.
