KATHMANDU, Sept 12: Nepal take on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today in the final of the ongoing third edition of the ACC Premier One-Day Cricket Tournament.
The final will begin at 7:15 am at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with both teams aiming to lift the ACC Premier Cup trophy for the second time.
ACC Premier Cup semi-final: Nepal vs UAE
Nepal won the inaugural edition in 2023 after defeating the UAE by seven wickets. The UAE, meanwhile, claimed the title in 2024 by defeating hosts Oman.
The stakes are even higher this time, as the winner of the final will also secure a place in the Asia Cup.
Nepal have won four of their five matches in the tournament, losing one, while the UAE have reached the final unbeaten.
Nepal and the UAE have faced each other 19 times in One-Day Internationals, with Nepal winning 11 matches and the UAE eight. Nepal have won three of their last five encounters against the UAE.
Their most recent meetings came in the ICC World Cup League 2 in May, when Nepal won both matches.
