During the match played under second format -- for 60 minutes -- Nepal defeated India 3-1 in the first match and Sri Lanka 4-0 in the second match. [break]
Hemat Thapa, Bimal Gharti Magar and Sangoj Rai scored one apiece for Nepal in the team´s first match against India. Similarly, in Nepal´s 4-0 thumping victory over Sri Lanka, Nisant Dhungana, Bimal Gharti Magar, Ram Chandra Wajee and Lalit Thapa were on target for Nepal.
In other matches, India edged past Bangladesh 2-1. Bhutan played 2-2 draw against Sri Lanka in the first match and in another lost 5-0 against Bangladesh. Remaining matches of the event will be held on Wednesday.
The match under first format -- 30 minute -- was held on Saturday and Sunday. A skill testing program was conducted on Monday in which accuracy, dribbling and passes of players were tested.
Five South Asian countries including India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan and host Nepal have participated in the festival. However, the football festival is being held since 2004 and is no longer seen as a competitive tournament.
