Issuing a press statement on Friday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) also thanked all member countries of SCO--China, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan--for the decision."Nepal believes that SCO dialogue partner would provide Nepal the window for more interactions and increased cooperation with SCO member states, especially, in the areas of trade, energy, economy, culture, tourism, environment and security and help forge mutually beneficial partnerships with the organization," said the statement.
In the statement, the MOFA also expressed Nepal's commitment to work together in order to realize the objectives of the organization. With Secretariat in Beijing, Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an intergovernmental organization established on 15 June 2001 in Shanghai, China, with basic principles of mutual trust, mutual benefit, equal rights, consultations, respect for cultural diversity and aspiration towards common development," the statement further said.
