KATHMANDU, Dec 30: Nepal recorded 241 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday along with 228 recoveries and no death, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 8,897 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 235 PCR and six antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 4,977 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 4,634 are in home isolation, 237 in institutional isolation, 83 in ICUs, and 23 on ventilators. Similarly, 103 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,590 people have died of the viral disease across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 145 cases of the virus on Thursday. Of them, 109 were recorded in Kathmandu, 11 in Bhaktapur, and 25 in Lalitpur districts.
