In the video message, former King Shah wished the countrymen on the occasion of Prithvi Jayanti on the Poush 27, the birthday of the Great King Prithvi Narayan, and on the occasion of National Unity Day.
In the video message, former King Shah discussed the background of the creation of Nepal as a nation, mentioning that while many small countries were losing their existence and identity, it was a remarkable challenge to establish a country right under the nose of the colonial powers of that time.
He said, “The world empire was under someone's control. Most of the countries in the world were suffering from colonial fate. It was no small challenge to build a country right before the eyes of an empire when many small countries were losing their existence and identities.”
Former monarch Shah also mentioned that Prithvi Narayan Shah made a great effort to unite Nepal, which was scattered and divided into small territories, into a single and strong nation.
In the message, he further stated that currently there is misuse of skills, with people in Nepal holding a golden pot and begging from others.
