Nepal government is determined to host IFFA: Minister Gokul Prasad Baskota (with video)

A meeting was organized by Development and Technology Committee under Federal Parliament about hosting the International Indian Film Award in Nepal on Tuesday. In the meeting, Gokul Prasad Baskota, minister for Communication and information Technology informed that Nepal government is determined to host the International Indian Film Award in Nepal.


Meanwhile, Ram Bahadur Bista, a member of parliament questioned Nepal government about the reason to organize IIFA in Nepal. Likewise, the committee members criticized the government’s decision for allocating a budget of Rs one billion for the award when the government has failed to uplift Nepali film fraternity.

 However, Baskota clarified that government has given permission to host the award as one of the strategies for making ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ a success. And he added that the government will not allocate a budget to host the award.
