KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director Kulman Ghising has submitted his performance details to the Ministry of Energy, Irrigation, and Water Resources following a request for clarification regarding his potential removal from his position. The ministry had raised concerns as Ghising failed to submit the required performance evaluation details by the mid-September deadline, as per the performance contract.

The contract stipulates that if the evaluation score for the third year falls below 50 percent, Ghising could be recommended for termination. Despite initial delays and repeated requests, Ghising has now submitted his performance report, claiming a 98.99 percent completion rate for the previous fiscal year.
Ghising, who was reappointed for a second term in 2021, had until mid-September to submit his evaluation, but missed the deadline. Sources indicate that no further action will be taken on the details submitted late. However, the ministry had prepared to follow through with the contract's provisions for removal if Ghising failed to provide the necessary information within the stipulated time.
