NDA, NPC win on third day

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Shivam New Diamond Academy (NDA) and the departmental team Nepal Police Club (NPC) has won in the third day of the ongoing 13th Red Bull Dhorpatan UM Women’s Volleyball Double League Tournament on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Shivam New Diamond Academy (NDA) and the departmental team Nepal Police Club (NPC) has won in the third day of the ongoing 13th Red Bull Dhorpatan UM Women’s Volleyball Double League Tournament on Saturday. 


In the match played at the Dhorpatan Sports Club’s ground in New Buspark, NDA defeated the other departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) in a straight 3-0 set victory. In a tight affair, NDA saw off TAC 26-24 in the first set, 25-14 in the second and 25-16 in the third.  Likewise, APF beat Three Star Academy in a straight set victory of 25-3, 25-2, 25-1. NPC has secured its first win of the tournament beating Meghauli Sports Foundation 25-10, 25-7, 25-13. NPC lost against APF in the first match.

Meghauli won its first match of the day defeating Paramount School 3-2 before it lost to NPC. Meghauli won the first set 19-25, but lost two back-to-back sets by 25-20, 25-19 and, then, won two sets again by 25-20, 15-5. 


NDA won its other match of the day as it overcame Springdale 18-25, 25-15, 25-17, 29-27 and Three Star 25-18, 25-14, 25-20. 


With the win, APF is unbeaten after the completion of four games and sits on top of the standings on 12 points. Likewise, NDA is second on nine points and TAC is third on the same points as NDA, but played a game more. New Diamond Sports Club (NDSC) and Paramount are fourth and fifth on six points each. Tops School, Eastern Regional Women’s Volleyball Association and Shree Gaun Sports Club have yet to play a match.  On Sunday, Shree Gaun will take on Three Star in the first match, NPC will face Paramount in the second, APF will battle against Meghauli in the third, NPC will play against Springdale in the fourth, NDA will face Shree Gaun in the fifth and Tops will vie against TAC in the last match of the day.
