KATHMANDU, Jan 30: The departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) has put an end to the unbeaten run of Shivam New Diamond Academy (NDA) in the ongoing 13th Red Bull Dhorpatan UM Women’s Double League Volleyball Tournament on Monday. APF beat NDA 3-2 in the match. 


At the Dhorpatan Club’s Sports Ground in New Buspark, NDA, who lost the first set 25-20, recovered brilliantly to win the second set 25-13. APF won the third set 25-22 again, but lost the fourth set 25-23 and was tied at 2-2. The departmental team fought blatantly in the fourth set to overcome NDA 15-12. 

APF has continued its unbeaten run in the competition after defeating NDA.

In the other matches, TOPS Higher Secondary School registered two wins on Monday. TOPS defeated Three Star Academy 25-3, 25-10, 25-3 in its first match, while it beat Springdale 25-11, 25-6, 25-7 in the second. 


Likewise, Eastern Regional Volleyball Tournament also won two matches. Eastern saw off Springdale 25-21, 25-6, 25-22 in its first match, while it overcame Paramount School in a straight set of 3-0.  APF is second on the standings accumulating 29 points from 10 matches and still has a game in hand, while NDA is at the top, be it momentarily, with 31 points from 11 matches. The other departmental team Nepal Police Club (NPC) is third with 27 points from 11 matches, while Eastern is fourth on 24 points from 11 matches. 


The first round match between APF and the other departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) was abandoned due to rain, and will be played on Tuesday.
