KATHMANDU, May 9: The Nepali Congress (NC) has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the party’s former central member, Constituent Assembly member and former Minister Surya Man Gurung. An emergency meeting of the NC central executive committee today endorsed a condolence proposal over the demise of Gurung.
The meeting decided to fly the party flag at half-mast for three days beginning today (May 9 -11) to mourn the passing away of the leader. The party will be closing all the party offices from the central to district level on May 10.

Gurung passed away on May 7 in the course of treatment at the Gyaneshwor-based Himal Hospital. He was 83.
